We live so close to many wonderful parks and seem to seldom take advantage of them. One day this summer, we decided to spend the day at Potato Creek State Park. We packed a picnic lunch, bikes, and hiking shoes, and met the inlaws down at the park. They joined us for lunch, and then we headed out on one of the shorter trails. It was very hot that day, and we knew the kids would not be up for a long hike.
They had just spotted a woodpecker way up high on a tree. They had heard it way before they could see it, and D was the one to spot it first.
