Silly Christmas jokes!

I found this book at my local library and it is hilarious! I love the really lame jokes so I'm going to share them with you.

Why was Santa's little helper depressed?

He had low elf-esteem.

What do you get if you cross a snowman and a shark?

Frostbite.

What do angry mice send to each other at Christmas?

Cross-mouse cards.

Why does Father Christmas cry a lot?

Because he gets santamental.

What did Santa say to Mrs. Claus when he looked out the window?

"Looks like rain, dear."

This one is my favorite!!!

What if there had been three Wise Women instead of three Wise Men?

They would have asked for directions, arrived on time, helped deliver the baby, cleaned the stable, and brought practical gifts.

What do you call someone who doesn't believe in Father Christmas?

A rebel without a Claus.

Which Christmas carol do new parents like best?

Silent Night.

What did the bald man say when he got a comb for Christmas?

Thanks, I'll never part with it.

What do editors call Santa's helpers?

Subordinate Clauses.

So I hope that you enjoyed these as much as I did. They all gave me a little chuckle!

So I have just done something I don't think I will ever do again. Are you ready...... I skinned a whole chicken to cook for dinner tonight. No it wasn't alive or anything, but still gross. You see I have a horrible gag reflex, just ask Adam! I can gag myself while brushing my teeth just by looking down at the sink! The good thing is that I am growing as a person. I'm becoming more adventurous with my cooking and baking. And because of that I have to do things I have never done before.. I was inspired by this blog and this book and I must thank them. And the kicker is that they have no idea who I am! So tonight for dinner I am making a whole rotisserie chicken in the crock pot! Click here for the recipe! I am very excited and will tell you how it went tomorrow!!

first snow!

So it was the first good snow fall here of the year! L has been so excited to wake up 2 days in a row to see it snowing! So we took Adam to work, headed over to the library, and after lunch went outside to play. L has been asking to play outside now for days so I just had to. I got them all bundled up and even dug out the old sled from last year. Well, we need a bigger sled. The kids barely fit on it, but they still had fun with mommy pulling them around on it. I was worried though because D's foot kept getting caught under the sled so we stopped. They tried to build Frosty, but the bowl holding the snow dumped over and spilled it all out. They did make snow angels. L's turned out great and he really liked it, D's just looks like a blob, and she was not having fun!! It was time to go inside when D's mitten fell off and she got too cold. Trust me, she let us know!

Getting ready to go out!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Tuesday (Veteran's day, 11-11) was my 29th birthday. It started out as a typical day. I was stuck at home all day, with both kids, and no car. And to top it off all my friends forgot all about it. Needless to say I was kinda bummed. But then my dad and brother came out, about an hour and a half drive for them, and we had a great visit. My dad had gotten me a barbie ballerina Christmas ornament, and L told us that it was beautiful just like mommy. Doesn't that just make your heart melt! Adam got home from work early bringing presents and a cake. He was on a mission for my birthday cake. See I follow this fantastic blog called Cake Wrecks, and it revolves around just hideous cakes and cupcakes. It's awesome! So Adam was determined to find the ugliest cake he could. He did it! He brought home 2 "turkey" cupcakes. I have added pictures below to show you just how bad it did look! The heads actually slid off, and there was so much frosting that we scraped some off and now I have enough to frost a small cake or brownies! Adam did get me 2 tool boxes to help organize all my crafting supplies! Fantastic! I did get to celebrate with my mom then the next day. It was fun too! She got my a brand new winter coat. It is fantastic! It actually fits and has all the buttons unlike my other 2 winter coats. Oh, and did I mention that it is actually warm! She also made me a Boston Cream Pie, my all-time favorite!! It did turn out to be a great birthday after all.

I flippin did it!

Alright folks so I actually did it!! I ran a 5K race this morning before most were even awake. It was cold!! But I did it. So do you want to know how I did? Well, first things first, I ran a 13 min mile, which was 2 min faster than what I was running. Now for the fun news! I was the very last finisher ever! Even the walkers got done before me. The old people passed me!! But the incredible part was that I still managed to win my age group. So lets go over this! I was the only runner in the 21-30 age group both in woman and men. So I guess I can come in last and still win my age group. That's pretty sad. If Adam would have run, then we both could have won our age group. Thanks again for all the well wishes, and now to add that to the list of miles. I've added some pics that Adam took from this morning so that you can all laugh at how I looked. Oh and I wanted to add that while I was running I ran past cows, horses, farms, a rooster crowing, and the great smell of manure! I was totally out in the middle of nowhere!!

Getting ready for my race.

Doesn't D look like a Christmas decoration from the 60's?

Waiting for the start. It was 38 degrees.
I finally made it!!

Please Vote!

Adam and I have voted today, both before 7 am! When I put my ballot in the box I was number 41. It was very exciting because there were so many young people there making their voice heard!! And the cool thing was the people around me were saying that they have never had to wait in line there before and the line was at least 15 people and growing. It is going to be a close race and very interesting to see what will happen! So off to go get our free Krispy Kreme donut, and free Starbucks coffee all for just voting. Please go vote. It does matter.
