So I have just done something I don't think I will ever do again. Are you ready...... I skinned a whole chicken to cook for dinner tonight. No it wasn't alive or anything, but still gross. You see I have a horrible gag reflex, just ask Adam! I can gag myself while brushing my teeth just by looking down at the sink! The good thing is that I am growing as a person. I'm becoming more adventurous with my cooking and baking. And because of that I have to do things I have never done before.. I was inspired by this blog and this book and I must thank them. And the kicker is that they have no idea who I am! So tonight for dinner I am making a whole rotisserie chicken in the crock pot! Click here for the recipe! I am very excited and will tell you how it went tomorrow!!

Good for you! I wish I could say the same thing but even cutting the fat off of my boneless skinless chicken breasts grosses me out. If I'm eating a cooked chicken breast and I can see a vain or chew down on a peice of grissle in a hamburger I can NOT finish eating it. I also will spit out a piece of meat if when I'm chewing it I bite down on fat. I will cut off ALL visible fat from chicken - even if that means I cut and throw away half of it. It's just NASTY to me and I can't eat it. So I'm glad that your making progress! I also don't do dark meat so we only do breasts in my house. Hope it tasted good!
You are a better woman than I am. I always get frozen chicken and just throw it in the crockpot frozen so I don't have to touch the squishy-ness.
I normally buy the boneless skinless chicken breasts and hack away at them too, but we got a whole frozen chicken from the food pantry. I am pretty proud of myself, but I still don't really ever want to do that again. The only thing worse would be to de-bone it! Yikes!! It did turn out really good, and everyone ate the entire bird. I got lots of compliments from my hubby and his brother.
