So sorry that I haven't been on in awhile, but with everyone coming down with yet another cold/flu, and all the Halloween fun it has been hard to post about everything! Last weekend the local zoo held a zoo boo, and because we have a membership it was totally free. So the kids got a trial run in the costumes that I put together. L was super L with the power to rock, and D was a pretty in pink fairy princess. The costumes were super easy because I used clothing that they already had, or borrowed from family. I did make L's sign on his shirt and his cape, and D was easy, I didn't have to make anything. Now the only problem is I don't have a costume. Adam is going as Super Dad! Back to the zoo boo, tons of local companies set up tables and gave out shit tons of candy and other goodies. It was awesome! And the cool thing was that the whole zoo was decorated with carved pumpkins. L totally got the hang of saying trick or treat and thank you. He was really really excited about the candy, the only thing is that he won't get most of it. D did say trick or treat maybe twice, and thank you a few times, but that's good since she rarely talks in public. For Halloween night we will take the kids to the university to visit friends and family, and then we will go just around the block that we live on. It won't be a huge night for the kids, but we will still have fun. We did take the kids to Borders for a kids costume party, but it was more for older kids. And I'm sick of everyone asking if L is Captian Underpants! Oh well!! I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!
Please ignore the messy house. The kids were being crazy that day!!

L's first movie in a real theater!
My friend Jackie has been offering to come and watch D for me so I can take L to the movies. Today was that day! We went to the dollar theater here in town and watched Wall-E. They had booster seats for the kids so that was fun. I even got us a junior popcorn! We got there toward the end of the short film at the beginning. It was a little hard to get in the seats because it was so dark in there, but L did so great!! He sat through the entire film, asked questions, ate all his popcorn and teddy grahams, and was even sad when Wall-E was "hurt". Toward the end of the movie L did want to sit in my lap which was fine by me, the only problem was that he leaked through his diaper and all over me and my jeans!! So I just changed his diaper in the aisle since it was so dark, there were only 4 other people in the theater, and he would have had a fit if I took him out. It was tons of fun, and I can't wait to take him again. The only thing that I would change was that we went to the 4:30 show and he was too wound up once we got home. It didn't help that we had company as soon as we got there. But next time I will take him to an earlier show. And by the way, I did change his diaper before we left! Oh well!!

Apple and Pumpkin picking
This morning we took the kids apple and pumpkin picking at this really neat farm in LaPorte. Garwood Farms is so cool. They have a u-pick section were you can get apples, pumpkins, raspberries, eggplant, peppers, and tomatoes. And then they have an indoor market with tons of fresh produce, amish noodles, jams, gelatto, fresh meat, and fresh baked goods. I can't wait to go back! We told L and D that we were going and that was all they could talk about the whole way there! It only took about 30 min to get there, and now that we know where it is we will totally be going there more often. They had tractors, and horse drawn wagons that take you into the fields. L was so excited that he ran the whole way to the pumpkin patch and didn't slow down. There was one point where he took off into the orchard and we couldn't find him. That was super scary! He was just too happy. We put D in the umbrella stroller to make it easier, and L, well all we had to do was give him an apple and he stayed put. The kids had a blast, and I think Adam and I did too. I have wanted to go apple picking for a super long time! Now we have 2 medium size pumpkins, and 1 bushel full of apples. Looks like I'll be making apple butter, maybe a pie, and tons of applesauce! Hurray! I love fall!!!

my last running update!
So I was having chest trouble last Sunday and went to the dr. about it. Well 2 days after that I came down with a horrible cold. Of course D came down with it the next day, L came down with it 3 days later, and Adam came down with it just this last Saturday. Well, I haven't been able to run because of all of this. I really want to but I really don't want to get worse! So it looks like I will not be able to make my race. I am really bummed about it, and plan to keep running after I get better. If I am able to find another race later in the year then I will sign up. I just know that there is no way to catch up in 2 weeks to get up to 3 miles. Bummer!

A new running update!
So I have had to put running on hold for a little bit, which means that I probably won't be able to run in the race that I want to. I started to have a hard time breathing, along with tightening in the chest along with pain every time I breathe. It took me a full day to go to the dr. They hooked me up to an EKG, and took a chest x-ray, and found nothing wrong with me. They put me on a anti-inflamatory drug and that went away. Then I woke up 2 days later with what feels like the start to a cold and sinus infection. Hurray!! So I need to put running on hold until I feel better, especially since it is getting really cold in the mornings. So big bummer!! I'm gonna keep trying to run, but I really doubt that I will be ready for my race in 2 weeks. Even so, I will keep running through the fall and winter. I really like getting out and getting a run in. And it's too funny, but I have gotten Adam into wanting to run again!

Please Watch!
Okay so not much cool stuff happens around here, so this is got to be one of the most coolest things to date! Chef Gordan Ramsey was here in town earlier this year to film an episode of Kitchen Nightmares and it will be on tonight. Yep that's right! I am plugging a show that is about a really bad resturant in the town that I live! Well, Adam and I just love Gordan and think everything he does is just way too cool. As soon as we heard he was hear, we drove past the place to see if we could get a glimpse of him, but we missed him by a day. So tonight we will excitedly watch the show and see images that we drive by. So watch tonight at 8pm eastern time on Fox!
